A meal plan swipe may now be used in any of our three retail food outlets. This meal plan retail swipe or "Cash Equivalency" provides an alternative option for a meal solution at "Grill Works" or "Which Wich" in Rifkin on the first floor of Henry Student Center or at "Greens to Go" in the Stark Learning Center.

  • The "Cash Equivalency" value is $5.25 at breakfast.
  • The "Cash Equivalency" value is $6.65 at lunch, dinner, and late night.

When menu selections are at or below the cash equivalency value for that meal --- then simply one swipe and done. If selections exceed the cash equivalency value --- then dining dollars, flex, cash or credit card may be used to cover and complete the transaction. All entrees, sides and beverages are available toward the cash equivalency meal plan swipe with the exception of premium bottled beverages.

NOTE: When a meal plan swipe is used in the cafeteria on 3rd floor of Henry's then the cash equivalency option would not be available for that meal period. Otherwise the Cash Equivalency swipe may be used once during each meal period each day. If you have questions about your bonus meals or the meal plan equivalency, please contact Dining Services at (570) 408-3993.

Meal Plan FAQ

Residence hall and meal plan charges are listed separately from tuition charges, but are included on your invoice.

Meal plans are automatically added to the payment plans when the charge is added to your bill. Your bill will be automatically adjusted for the next payment that is due and withheld from your cash account or charged to your credit card.

All resident students MUST choose one of the Colonel Meal Plans. Commuter and off-campus students are not required to have a meal plan, but may chose any of the Colonel or Commuter plans.

All first-time first year students residing on campus MUST choose the Gold, Gold Plus, or Gold Premier Plan only. All sophomore and junior residents are required to choose one of our resident meal plans, excluding the Senior Value Plan. Any Resident Senior (students who have completed at least 90 credits or more by the first day of class) can choose the Senior Value Plan, if desired. All other students may choose a plan most suited to their individual needs.

This plan is available only to Resident Seniors (students who have completed at least 90 credits or more by the first day of class and reside in on-campus housing). The plan includes 30 days of unlimited meal swipes (usable at any time in Henry’s Café, or for a meal equivalency in Rifkin and Stark) plus $100 in Dining Dollars and $50 in Flex Dollars per semester. Any unused meals or dollars from the Fall semester will carry over to the Spring Semester.  Unused meals and/or dollars are non-refundable.
No meal plan changes for Fall are permitted after August 1, or once your contract is received by Residence Life. You may make a change for the Spring Semester during the official Dining Plan Change Period of October 1 through November 15. All requests to change meal plans must be made in writing. Please send requests to studentmeals@wilkes.edu

Unused Dining/Flex Dollars will be carried over from the Fall semester to the Spring semester, but are not carried over to the next academic year. At the end of the Spring Semester all unused Dining/Flex dollars will be eliminated. Unused dining/flex dollars are not refunded.
