ACT 101 Program Office Graduate Assistant
Student will be responsible for performing 9 hours of service per week, assisting the Act 101 Director/Counselor with a variety of tasks, including but not limited to office organization with record keeping; follow-up phone calls; coordinating student activities; developing and leading specific themed workshops.
Student will gain knowledge regarding the operations of a state funded program in higher education.
The Act 101 Program will be offering a $2,500 stipend for the spring 2025 semester, which will be paid by state grant monies. The position will be contracted from January 13, 2025 - May 30, 2025. Interested Graduate students may contact Karen Riley at 570-408-4152.
Etruscan Press
Online, 3 credits. Student will be responsible for performing 9 hours of service per week for the semester. Duties will include, but are not limited to, editing, copy work, and grant writing.
Student will gain valuable knowledge regarding the day-to-day workings of a small press, including editing, copy work, and grant writing.
Blue Moon / HaveScripts
Online. 3 credits. Student will be responsible for performing 9 hours of service each week. Duties will include, but are not limited to, acting as an editorial assistant to Jean Klein at Blue Moon Plays, a company that produces approximately ten new scripts per year.
Student will gain knowledge of the workings of a playwriting production company including the editing and production of new plays.
CW Community Outreach Coordinator
Online. 2 credits. Student will serve as a resource for our students as they address one of the requirements of the MFA Program, which is to “use your writing talents to give back to your community”; and plan, organize, and execute community-building activities during the semester and at the residencies.
Managing Editor, River & South Review
Online. 3 credits. Student will be responsible for performing 9 hours of service per week. Duties will include, but are not limited to: overseeing editorial team, managing the editorial and production calendar to ensure timely release of issues, individual meetings with genre editors to determine which pieces will be selected to be discussed by full team, managing the submission process in Submittable, planning/creating/posting social media content, and bringing strategic ideas to editorial team for consideration.
Student will gain knowledge of managing the creative and production logistics of an online literary journal.
Hippocampus Magazine
Online. 3 credits. Student will be responsible for performing 9 hours of service per week. Duties will include, but are not limited to, reading submissions and developing content to promote magazine issues, books, or press-sponsored events.
Student will gain knowledge of publishing and promoting a literary magazine and become familiar with small press practices.
