On-Campus SIM Days
Science in Motion offers a unique opportunity for your students to experience hands-on learning in a college-grade laboratory at ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥app. Here, they can engage in exciting experiments using advanced equipment and techniques typically found in higher education settings. This immersive experience not only enhances their understanding of scientific concepts but also gives them a glimpse into the world of collegiate research. It’s a fantastic way for students to ignite their passion for science while developing critical skills in a professional environment!
In the 2023-2024 school year, SIM hosted students from Lakeland High School for a case of forensics where they performed DNA Fingerprinting. SIM also hosted students from Wyoming Seminary Secondary for a STEM Day extravaganza involving biology, chemistry, and pharmacy experiments lead by the SIM Team and professors and students from the pharmacy department here at Wilkes.
STEM Nights
At the STEM Nights that Science in Motion has participated in, students and their families gather for an exciting evening filled with hands-on learning and exploration. Students dive into a variety of interactive STEM activities that spark their curiosity and creativity.
Through Science in Motion's involvement at your next STEM Night, students can get the chance to practice coding with our mBot robots, bringing them to life with their own programming, or create unique gene keychains that illustrate concepts in genetics. One of the highlights for these events is the portable StarLab Planetarium, where families can enjoy a mesmerizing night under the stars, exploring the wonders of the universe. These engaging experiences foster a love for science, technology, engineering, and math, all while encouraging families to bond and learn together!
During the 2023-2024 school year, SIM participated in STEM Nights at the following schools:
