Alicia “Lish” Lindsey made her Carnegie Hall debut as solo piccoloist with the Eastern Wind Symphony and has performed at David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center, Radio City Music Hall, Kennedy Center, Philadephia’s Verizon Hall, and venues in Japan, China, Italy, England, and Wales. She was a regular flute substitute with the Broadway musical, Finding Neverland, at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in NYC.
Lish is the principal piccoloist with the Capital Philharmonic Orchestra and Sinfonietta Nova, principal flutist with the Eastern Wind Symphony, contrabass flutist with Centre Park Flute Ensemble and performs/has performed with the Harrisburg, Lancaster, Reading and South Florida Symphonies, Riverside Symphonia, Philadelphia Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, Strauss Symphony of America, Pennsylvania Philharmonic, Pottstown Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Wind Symphony, Center City Opera Theater, Fresh Squeezed Opera Company, and was a touring orchestra member with Josh Groban, Sarah Brightman, Evanesence, Hanson, violinist Lindsey Stirling, Il Divo, Il Volo, guitarist Warren Haynes, Celtic Thunder, Rocktopia Live, and Video Games Live. She is a ryūteki performer with the Columbia Instrumental Gagaku Ensemble and Tenri Gagaku Music Society in NY.
She has been the adjunct professor of Flute and director of the Flute Ensemble at Ӱֱapp since 2008 and a ӰֱappConservatory instructor since 2011. Lish is also an adjunct flute professor, lecturer of music and/or flute choir director/conductor at CUNY Brooklyn College, Mercer County Community College, Montclair University, and NJ City University.
She has been a competition judge/clinician and/or performer at the National Flute Association Annual Convention, Midatlantic Flute Convention, NY Flute Club Flute Fair, Flute Society of NJ Flute Fair, Flute Society of Greater Philadelphia Flute Fair, Flute Festival of Central PA, Flute Festival of Southeastern PA, Central NJ Flute Day, Pocono Flute Festival, and San Diego Flute Guild. She is the flute artist-in-residence for SummerMusicInTuscany.com (Sarteano, Italy) and clinician for the Pocono Flute Society’s Flute Camp.
Lish received her MA (Flute performance) from New York University and BM (Flute performance) and BA (English, minor in music: Flute concentration) from The College of NJ (Trenton State College). Influential teachers include Julius Baker, Dr. Brad Garner, David DiGiacobbe, Dr. Dent Williamson, David Ancker, Ronna Ayscue, Louise Sasaki, and Sasamoto Takeshi.
